Dr. Mullin graduated from Syracuse University and received her Ph.D. from Alliant International University (formerly known as California School of Professional Psychology) in 1986.  She completed her internship at an APA-approved site, the Astor Home for Children in upstate New York.  At this residential treatment center, she worked with young children doing play therapy and family treatment.  She also had internship experience at previous sites, including Santa Monica Residency Program, Intercommunity Child Guidance Clinic and Pasadena Child Guidance.  Dr. Mullin is a member of the American Psychological Association.

 

Prior to coming to Franciscan Hospital for Children, she worked at Judge Baker Children’s Center with children and families, and as a consultant to the Department of Children and Families.  She was employed at the Arbor Counseling Services doing outpatient treatment.  Dr. Mullin was also in private practice for fifteen years, both in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.  In addition she taught several courses to adult students in Psychology at the University of New Hampshire – College for Lifelong Learning.

 

Dr. Mullin has been trained to work with children and adolescents, specifically young children using play therapy techniques. She has supervised numerous students and interns, and is the Director of Training for an APA approved doctoral training program at the hospital. She has also done work with EAPs doing Crisis Stress Debriefing in places such as schools and work environments, and has consulted to a variety of professionals on issues of child abuse.
